Our Training Philosophy

Thank you for your interest in our Academy. We take pride in our mission to train the next generation of stylists in Prince George and beyond. Today, the themes of balance and sustainability are more important than ever.

We take those values seriously, especially in how we train our stylists. Our approach involves immersive training that instills a self-assurance in every stylist.

Unlike other training programs, our curriculum emphasizes hands-on work throughout each phase. Our methodology helps to prepare every stylist to begin their work with total confidence.

the foundation series

Welcome to our hands-on training programs designed to build essential skills in colour, styling, cutting, and barbering. There are two 150-hour programs—Paint the Foundations (color & styling) and Sculpt the Foundations (cutting & barbering), blends classroom learning with real-world salon experience. Perfect for aspiring hairstylists looking to learn the fundamentals of hair artistry.

program Details

Our training model is uniquely structured compared to traditional programs. We offer two 150-hour programs over six months, with classes held two days per week. The first day focuses on theory and technical learning in a classroom setting, while the second day provides a hands-on salon immersion experience, allowing students to apply their skills in a real-world environment. We follow BC Industry Training Authority Standards in the development of our programs.

With years of experience in salon education, we've found that our students gain greater confidence in their skills through hands-on practice in real-world scenarios. By structuring the program over two days per week, students not only receive immersive training but also have the flexibility to earn an income while they learn.

The first 150 hours, Paint the Foundations, is a beginner friendly program designed to build a strong foundation in styling and colour theory. The second 150 hours, Sculpting Foundations, prepares you with the fundamental of cutting and barbering.
